LONDON: The International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to discuss several major proposals aimed at shaping the future of international cricket during its Annual General Meeting.
According to British media reports, one of the key topics could be reducing One-Day International (ODI) matches from 50 overs to 40 overs.
The meeting may also consider introducing continental championships between teams from different regions and launching an ICC World Club Championship.
Other proposals reportedly include creating separate international windows for each format to improve the global cricket calendar.
The agenda may also feature expanding the World Test Championship (WTC) from its current format to 12 teams and allowing one-off Test matches to count toward the WTC points table.
The ICC Annual Conference is scheduled to take place in Edinburgh, Scotland, from July 8 to July 11, where representatives from member cricket boards will discuss these proposals.
