Russia Vows Support for Iran, Medvedev Says Nation Will Prevail Over US

TEHRAN: Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, declared that Iran will emerge victorious in its struggle against the United States, as he led a high-level Russian delegation attending the funeral of Iran’s martyred Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in Tehran .

 

Following the condolence ceremony, Medvedev stated that Russia shares the grief of the Iranian people and that the sorrow has united the nation . “The Iranian nation will not yield to pressure from the United States or any other country,” he said, expressing confidence in their ultimate triumph .

 

The Russian delegation also held a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. The President stressed the need to expedite the implementation of strategic agreements between Tehran and Moscow, particularly in economic, trade, energy, and transit sectors . He called for the swift execution of existing bilateral agreements, which cover a 20-year comprehensive strategic partnership .

 

Medvedev reaffirmed Moscow’s commitment to fully implementing the partnership treaty and expanding cooperation, including the use of national currencies in bilateral trade to reduce reliance on the US dollar .
