ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, met eputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad before his departure for Tehran.
During the meeting, Dar highlighted the historic, cultural and brotherly ties between Pakistan and Iran and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.
He stressed the need to further strengthen relations in trade, regional connectivity, people-to-people exchanges and regional cooperation.
Dar said close coordination and mutual trust were essential to maintaining the positive diplomatic momentum between the two countries.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting peace, dialogue and stability in the region.

The deputy prime minister expressed confidence that Siddiqui would play an important role in further strengthening the longstanding ties between Pakistan and Iran.
Dar also conveyed his best wishes to the ambassador-designate for his new assignment.
