PESHAWAR: The formal oath-taking ceremony for newly inducted members of the provincial cabinet was held at the Governor House in Peshawar, marking a fresh expansion in the government structure of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The event took place at the historic Governor House Peshawar, where Governor Faisal Karim Kundi administered the oath to the newly appointed provincial ministers.
The ministers who took oath included Shafi Jan, Shakeel Ahmed, Tariq Mahmood, Nazir Abbasi, and Arif Ahmadzai. The ceremony was conducted in a disciplined and orderly manner, reflecting the formal traditions of the provincial governance system.
The induction of new cabinet members is expected to strengthen administrative capacity and support ongoing governance and development initiatives across the province. In this regard, one of the nominated ministers, Adnan Qadri, was unable to attend the ceremony due to being abroad.
It is noteworthy that the expansion of the provincial cabinet had been approved a day earlier by Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, following recommendations from the provincial leadership.
The move is part of a broader effort to improve governance efficiency and ensure better distribution of administrative responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi had earlier prepared a summary proposing an expansion of the cabinet, recommending the inclusion of additional ministers, advisers, and special assistants.
The provincial cabinet is being expanded to include six new ministers, four advisers, and eight special assistants.
