Political parties should speak on terrorism: Zia Langove

ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Interior Minister Mir Zia Langau has called upon political parties to play a more proactive role in highlighting the state’s position regarding terrorism.

In a recent statement, the Minister criticized the political landscape for focusing on trivial issues while neglecting grave national security matters.

He argued that the reluctance of political entities to speak openly on terrorism weakens the national narrative, adding that the state remains open to welcoming anyone who chooses to operate within the framework of the Constitution and the law.

Responding to these remarks, Provincial Assembly member Zamrak Achakzai dismissed the notion that political parties are silent on the issue.

He countered that political leadership does indeed address terrorism, but the primary challenge lies in the fact that the voices and concerns of elected representatives are frequently ignored by the authorities.
