HEC announced the good news to the students

ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced a new online degree verification system aimed at providing easier and faster services to students across the country. The initiative is being described as a major step toward digital transformation in the higher education sector of Pakistan.

In this regard, the students will now be able to verify their academic degrees online from the comfort of their homes without visiting HEC offices physically. He stated that the modern system has been designed to ensure convenience, transparency, and efficiency for applicants seeking degree attestation and verification services.

In this sense, Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar said that applications for degree verification would be received online round the clock, allowing students to submit their requests at any time.

He added that the digital system offers a secure, effective, and user-friendly process that will significantly reduce delays and improve service delivery for students and graduates nationwide.

So far, the HEC chairman further noted that the introduction of the online verification mechanism reflects the commission’s commitment to adopting modern technology and facilitating students through digital platforms.

The move is expected to particularly benefit students living in remote areas who previously faced difficulties in accessing verification services due to travel and administrative challenges.

Meanwhile, the HEC has also announced scholarships for talented students from Balochistan as part of its efforts to promote higher education opportunities in underdeveloped regions of the country.

The online degree verification system will come into effect from May 11, 2026. Students and graduates are being encouraged to use the digital platform for quicker processing and improved accessibility.
