Bengaluru: A sudden 40-minute spell of heavy rain and hailstorm caused widespread destruction in the Indian city of Bengaluru, leaving at least 10 people dead in various incidents.
Several roads were submerged as flood-like conditions developed across the city.
According to Indian media, more torrential rain is expected over the next 48 hours, with winds likely to blow at speeds of 30 to 40 km per hour.
Many areas are experiencing knee-deep water on roads, while electricity supply has also been disrupted.
Reports also confirmed hailstorms in several parts of the city, with the possibility of further intensification in the coming hours.
