ISLAMABAD: According to a press release issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, intense cross-border firing in the Mamund and Salarzai areas of Bajaur district resulted in civilian casualties and property damage.
The firing caused the death of nine innocent civilians and left 12 others injured, while several residential houses were also damaged.
Immediate medical assistance was provided to the injured, and after initial treatment they were shifted to Peshawar for further care.
The district administration stated that relief and compensation will be provided to the affected families, including support for damaged homes and the families of the deceased and injured.
The local population strongly reacted to the incident and expressed serious concern over the targeting of civilian areas.
Community leaders and residents demanded that such actions be stopped immediately to prevent further loss of life and property.
The district administration and security forces continue to monitor the situation and have reiterated their commitment to protecting the lives and property of the people and ensuring stability in the region.
