Abdullah Shafique Scores Century in Port of Spain

GUYANA: Pakistani middle-order batter Abdullah Shafique scored his sixth career Test century against the West Indies on the ongoing second Test match in Port of Spain.

Earlier, the West Indies team was dismissed for 344 runs in their first innings, in response to which Pakistan displayed a strong performance.

Despite opener Imam-ul-Haq getting out after scoring 14 runs, young opener Azan Awais played an aggressive innings and scored 55 runs before being dismissed.

Following the departure of both openers, captain Babar Azam and Abdullah Shafique built a magnificent third-wicket partnership, not only stabilizing the innings but also advancing the score at a swift pace.

Abdullah Shafique completed his sixth Test century, while captain Babar Azam is also approaching a century.

Shortly before, Pakistan’s score stood at 266 for the loss of two wickets.

The West Indies currently hold a 1–0 lead in the series.
