Chinese Fighter Jet Sales Double After India Conflict

BEIJING: Sales of Chinese fighter jets have nearly doubled after the Pakistan Air Force reportedly used Chinese-made aircraft to shoot down several Indian warplanes, including Rafale jets, during the conflict with India.

According to Bloomberg, Chinese aircraft manufacturer AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Corporation saw its sales nearly double in the first quarter of this year.

The report stated that the company’s revenue last year increased by 16% to $11 billion, while profits rose by 6.5%, reaching the highest level in the company’s history.

The report added that the single-engine multi-role J-10 fighter jets were used during the May conflict between Pakistan and India.

Pakistan’s Air Force reportedly used these jets to bring down several Indian aircraft, including French-made Dassault Rafale jets.

It further noted that the conflict became one of the rare occasions where modern Chinese weapons were tested in real combat conditions.

India also acknowledged aircraft losses during the war, though it did not disclose the exact number of destroyed jets.
