CDA Demolishes FC Camp in Anti-Encroachment Drive

ISLAMABAD: An anti-encroachment operation was carried out in the federal capital, during which an FC camp office built on a green belt near Islamabad Marriott Hotel and Ayub Chowk was demolished, officials said.

The operation, a part of a broader drive to restore the city to its original state, was conducted under the supervision of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).

Speaking on this occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that an alternative legal site would be provided for the FC camp office, adding no government or private entity would be allowed to carry out construction or occupation on state land.

It was stated that eliminating encroachments and restoring Islamabad’s planned layout remain top priorities.

A large-scale operation has been ongoing across the capital. More than 300 kanals of land, valued at billions of rupees, have been recovered, according to officials.

The drive has been described as indiscriminate. No pressure has been accepted in carrying out the removals, it was said.

An alternative legal site is to be provided for the displaced FC camp office.
