Russia hails Pakistan’s role in US-Iran talks

MOSCOW: In a significant diplomatic endorsement, Russia has publicly praised Pakistan for its crucial role in facilitating an environment conducive to talks between the United States and Iran, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.

Speaking to an Indian media outlet, Peskov expressed deep gratitude towards Islamabad, acknowledging Pakistan’s behind-the-scenes efforts to reduce tensions between Washington and Tehran.

“Listen, we are very grateful to Pakistan and we very much appreciate its role in creating the atmosphere and environment for talks between the US and Iran,” Peskov stated.

He reiterated, “We are extremely grateful to Pakistan and sincerely appreciate its role in creating a favorable environment and atmosphere for these talks.”

The Russian official’s remarks underscore Pakistan’s growing stature as a responsible global actor capable of bridging divides between rival nations. While major powers have often struggled to bring the US and Iran to the same table, Islamabad’s quiet diplomacy appears to have yielded tangible results.

Observers note that Pakistan has consistently advocated for peaceful resolution of conflicts and has leveraged its unique relationships with both Washington and Tehran to build trust. The Kremlin’s acknowledgment – particularly in a statement to Indian media – sends a clear message that Pakistan’s diplomatic weight is being recognized on the world stage.

The development is being hailed in diplomatic circles as yet another testament to Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability and international peace. By facilitating dialogue between long-standing adversaries, Pakistan has once again proven that it remains an indispensable partner for global powers seeking conflict resolution.
