TEHRAN: Iran Seistan operation was successfully conducted by the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, resulting in the dismantling of three active, foreign-backed militant networks.
According to official statements, security forces acted on precise intelligence to neutralize these threats before any planned sabotage could occur.
During intense border clashes, three insurgents were killed and nine others were apprehended alive.
The arrested individuals reportedly received extensive military, bomb-making, and target-killing training abroad before attempting to infiltrate the country through clandestine routes to destabilize southern districts.
Furthermore, authorities alleged that these neutralized cells maintained operational ties with foreign intelligence agencies.
During the Iran Seistan operation, security personnel also seized a massive cache of modern weaponry, ammunition, and semi-heavy arms that had been illegally smuggled into the region.
