QUETTA: Lawyers across Balochistan, on the call of the Balochistan Bar Council, boycotted court proceedings across the province today.
The Balochistan Bar Council, in a statement, said that the protest comes in response to police action against the Grand Alliance ( an alliance of government employees) rally. During the rally, police reportedly baton-charged, shelled, and injured several male and female employees.
The Bar Council condemned the violence. It called the crackdown unacceptable and a violation of basic rights.
The Council also expressed solidarity with the arrested Grand Alliance leaders and employees. It demanded their immediate release.
