UNDP boosts development efforts in Balochistan

QUETTA:  Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail praised the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for its commendable efforts in transforming lives across the province. He acknowledged that through tireless work, the UNDP has made significant progress in improving access to healthcare, education, and clean drinking water in Balochistan.

During a meeting with Dr. Samuel Rizk, UNDP Resident Representative in Pakistan, and Ms. Van Nguyen, Deputy Resident Representative, the governor emphasized the need to equip District Headquarters Hospitals and educational institutions with modern facilities.

He stated that doing so would enable the government to deliver essential healthcare and quality education, even in the most remote and underprivileged areas.

Governor Mandokhail also highlighted the importance of ensuring access to clean drinking water, noting that it is vital to reducing the risk of waterborne diseases and improving overall public health.

He stressed that international cooperation and partnerships are crucial for achieving development goals and delivering basic facilities in Balochistan, with such collaboration already yielding positive outcomes.

UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) is actively working to improve the lives of people in Balochistan through various development initiatives aimed at providing essential services, promoting sustainable growth, and enhancing human capacity.

These projects include equipping District Headquarters Hospitals with modern medical facilities to ensure healthcare access at the local level.

In the education sector, efforts are being made to upgrade institutions and provide youth with modern skills that can improve learning outcomes and create employment opportunities.
