KARACHI: The Zulhijjah moon has been sighted across Pakistan, and Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on May 27.
The official announcement was made following a meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee held in Karachi.
The central meeting was chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, while zonal committee meetings were held concurrently in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta.
Crescent sighting testimonies were received from various parts of the country.
According to astronomers, the new moon was born on the night of May 17 at 1:01 AM, while the sunset time in Karachi was recorded at 7:10 PM.
