ISLAMABAD: The recent threatening statement by the Indian Army Chief clearly reflects a deliberate, aggressive, hyperactive, and revisionist Pakistan-specific foreign policy. Contrary to India’s grand strategic
misconceptions, Pakistan harbors no plans to dismantle India either politically or militarily; its sole objective remains the just and peaceful resolution of historical disputes.
The Indian leadership must realize that it cannot simply wish away the fifth most populous nation on the planet. Pakistan occupies one of the world’s most critical geo-strategic locations, maintains positive regional and global relevance, possesses formidable armed forces, and is a declared nuclear power. Any attempt at unilateralism or unprovoked aggression will invariably result in a bloody nose for the aggressor. Militarily, India will never be in a position to dictate terms in South Asia.
