Continuous Ship Traffic at Karachi Port Signals Trade Growth

KARACHI: The steady arrival and departure of ships at Karachi Port has been described as a positive sign for improving trade.

A total of 19 ships are scheduled to arrive, while one ship is set to depart from Karachi Port Trust.

Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry called the port’s performance satisfactory and said continuous ship movement reflects better maritime trade activity.

He added that increasing commercial operations at Karachi Port are strengthening the logistics sector.

In the last 24 hours, 74,603 metric tons of cargo were handled.

Reports show that 45,171 tons of containerized cargo were transported, including 19,300 tons of imports and 25,868 tons of exports.

Bulk cargo reached 11,944 tons, clinker exports stood at 6,114 tons, and liquid cargo handling reached 10,352 tons.
