KABUL: Former Afghanistan fast bowler Shapoor Zadran has passed away after a battle with cancer.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) confirmed his demise, expressing deep sorrow and noting that Zadran was one of the pioneer cricketers who helped build Afghanistan cricket.
The board added that the funeral details will be announced later in consultation with his family.
Zadran had been battling cancer and was undergoing treatment at a local hospital in India, where several Afghan cricketers had been visiting him. During his international career, Shapoor Zadran represented Afghanistan in 44 ODIs and 36 T20Is.
