ISLAMABAD: Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu and killed two terrorists, including a highly wanted Khawarij commander.
According to ISPR, on receiving information about the presence of terrorists, security forces launched the operation. During intense exchange of fire, two terrorists were neutralized.
A suicide vest, weapons, and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists.
The killed terrorists have been identified as Khawarij commander Waheedullah alias Mukhtiar and a suicide bomber.
Waheedullah was involved in multiple terrorist attacks and was on the list of most wanted terrorists.
He was directly linked to the martyrdom of security personnel and innocent civilians.
He was also the main facilitator of the suicide attack in Bannu on 21 February 2026, in which Lieutenant Colonel Gul Faraz was martyred.
ISPR stated that through this operation, the security forces have avenged the heinous attack and brought the main culprit to justice.
Timely action also prevented a major tragedy.
Clearance operations are continuing against other Indian-backed terrorists.
Under the resolve for stability, security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue operations until terrorism is completely eradicated from the country.
