ISLAMABAD: The secret is finally out. Following the failure of the recent public rally in Azad Kashmir, Sardar Aman has openly appealed to India for assistance.
The statement follows an escalating situation involving the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), a grassroots coalition that has led months-long protests over economic issues, subsidies, and local governance.
Sardar Aman Khan, a prominent leader within the JAAC, released a video message addressing communities across the Line of Control (LoC) in the wake of intensifying crackdowns by regional authorities.
In his address, he detailed the severe hardships faced by locals, alleging that an economic blockade has cut off essential food supplies, medical routes, and basic civil rights.
Rather than framing it as a direct appeal to the Indian state apparatus, his speech explicitly called upon the people residing across the entire state—naming specific regions including Srinagar, Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu, Ladakh, and Kargil—to hold solidarity demonstrations on July 5 against what he characterized as peak institutional cruelty and military oppression.
The development marks a dramatic shift in the rhetoric surrounding the localized civil rights movement, drawing heavy criticism from observers who view the cross-border appeal as a compromise of the movement’s local framework.
