Residents Welcome Lasbela’s Elevation to Divisional Status

Balochistan creates new Lasbela Division

UTHAL: Residents, local government representatives, and tribal elders have welcomed the Balochistan government’s decision to grant Lasbela the status of a separate division, with Uthal as its headquarters, describing the development as a major administrative achievement that will bring government services closer to the people.

Community leaders and public representatives appreciated the role of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Mir Kamal Khan Alyani, and Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism and Culture Nawabzada Mir Zareen Khan Magsi, acknowledging their efforts in securing divisional status for the district.

They said the establishment of the new division would significantly improve access to public services by enabling residents to complete official matters locally instead of travelling to distant administrative centres. The decision, they noted, would reduce both travel time and expenses while making government institutions more accessible.

Representatives expressed confidence that the creation of Lasbela Division would promote balanced regional development through the establishment of divisional offices of various government departments, leading to improved governance and more efficient public service delivery.

They also said the new administrative setup is expected to generate employment opportunities for local youth through the expansion of government offices and related economic activities.

The speakers voiced optimism that divisional status would encourage the establishment of higher education institutions, technical and vocational training centres and other educational facilities, allowing students to pursue quality education and acquire professional skills within the region.

They further hoped that the move would support faster progress in healthcare, communications and infrastructure development, strengthening the district’s long-term economic growth and improving the quality of life for its residents.

The representatives paid tribute to Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Federal Minister Jam Mir Kamal Khan Alyani for what they described as their forward-looking leadership, while also commending Parliamentary Secretary Nawabzada Mir Zareen Khan Magsi for his consistent efforts in helping bring the initiative to fruition.
