Quetta Situation Under Control, Security Forces Fully Mobilized: Govt of Balochistan

No Room for Ethnic or Sectarian Division in Balochistan: Babar Yousafzai

QUETTA: The situation in Quetta city is completely under control following a series of explosions, authorities confirmed on Wednesday, appealing to the public to remain calm.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Babar Yousafzai, the advisor to the Chief Minister of Balochistan on Interior, said that police and relevant agencies are currently determining the exact locations of the blasts. He added that the overall situation is being carefully and continuously reviewed.

According to initial official reports, no casualties have been reported from any of the explosion sites.

In response to the incidents, security forces and law enforcement agencies have been fully mobilized across the city. The advisor stressed that the protection of life and property of the public is being ensured as the top priority.

Preliminary investigations suggest a specific motive behind the attacks. According to initial reports, terrorists threw old hand grenades into populated areas. The apparent objective, authorities stated, was to spread fear and panic among the citizens rather than cause mass casualties.

In his appeal, Babar Yousafzai urged the public not to listen to rumors and to avoid spreading unconfirmed news. Citizens were directed to obtain information only from authentic, official sources.

Further updates are expected as law enforcement agencies continue to review the situation and pinpoint the exact locations of the grenade attacks.
