MASTUNG: Students from the University of Balochistan’s Mastung Sub-Campus staged a major protest outside Degree College Mastung, blocking the main highway to all types of traffic.
The demonstration was sparked by alleged delays in the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme and a prolonged internet blackout in the region.
Chanting slogans against the government and relevant authorities, the protesting students demanded the immediate, transparent distribution of laptops and the restoration of internet services to resolve their academic hurdles.
The highway blockade resulted in massive traffic jams on both sides of the road, causing severe inconvenience to travelers.
Protesters have warned that their sit-in will continue until all demands are met.
