ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have commended security forces for successful operations in Balochistan, following the reported killing of more than 71 militants in Operation Shuban and other areas of the province over the past 96 hours.
President Zardari praised the security forces for targeting militant hideouts and described the reported elimination of more than 71 terrorists as a significant achievement in the fight against terrorism.
President Zardari and PM Shehbaz commend security forces for Balochistan operations
President Zardari said the successful operations against militants identified by Pakistani authorities as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan were commendable. He alleged that the groups were operating with foreign backing, including support from India and the Afghan Taliban.
The president also described the clearance of multiple militant hideouts in Balochistan as a major success for the security forces.
According to the president, counterterrorism operations will continue until threats involving what Pakistan describes as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism are eliminated.
He also paid tribute to the sacrifices and services of security personnel involved in the country’s ongoing campaign against militancy, saying their efforts remain a source of pride for the nation.
PM Shehbaz praises security forces’ professionalism
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces for their operations against militants in Balochistan.
“More than 71 terrorists being killed in various parts of Balochistan over the past 96 hours is a clear testament to the professionalism and bravery of our security forces,” the prime minister said.
He added that counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative would continue with full force and determination.
Operations continue in Balochistan
The reported operations included Operation Shuban and security actions in other parts of Balochistan. Pakistani authorities said multiple militant hideouts were cleared during the operations.

The leadership’s statements came as security forces continued clearance and counterterrorism activities in the province.
