PESHAWAR: Peshawar Zalmi qualified for the PSL 11 final after defeating Islamabad United by 70 runs in the first Eliminator.
Chasing a target of 222 runs, Islamabad United were bowled out for just 151 runs.
For Peshawar Zalmi, Hardus Viljoen took 3 wickets, while Basit Ali and Sufiyan Muqeem claimed 2 wickets each.
For Islamabad United, opener Sameer Minhas scored 44 runs, while Mohsin Riaz added 25, but the rest of the batting lineup failed to make a significant impact.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi posted 221 runs for 7 wickets in their allotted overs. Captain Babar Azam played a brilliant innings of 103 runs off 58 balls, while Kusal Mendis scored 41 and Mohammad Haris made 35 runs.
Babar Azam also completed his second century of the tournament, equaled Fakhar Zaman’s record for most runs in a single PSL season, and became the first player in PSL history to score 500 or more runs in four different seasons.
