ISLAMABAD: A final installment of $1 billion was repaid by the State Bank of Pakistan to the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, completing total repayments of $3.45 billion, officials said.
The payment was made on April 23, 2026. It followed an earlier repayment of $2.45 billion made the previous week.
With the latest transfer, the full amount owed to the United Arab Emirates fund has been cleared.
The repayments were described by officials as part of efforts to meet financial obligations and improve external debt management.
State Bank of Pakistan repaid deposit of US$ 1 billion to Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) UAE on 23April2026. Deposits of $2.45 billion were repaid last week. This completes the repayment of total deposits of $3.45 billion to UAE.

Analysts said the development could strengthen financial cooperation and trust between Pakistan and the UAE.
