Pakistan Welcomes Indian Dialogue Signals

ISLAMABAD : The Foreign Office spokesperson termed the rising voices within India advocating for dialogue as a positive development, stating that Pakistan is awaiting a constructive response from the Indian government.

The spokesperson noted that there is currently no knowledge of any active Track-2 or backdoor diplomatic channels, reiterating that Islamabad believes in meaningful diplomacy to ensure regional peace, stability, and prosperity.

Addressing security issues, Pakistan strongly condemned the recent terrorist attack on the Fateh Khel police check post in Bannu.

The Afghan Chargé d’Affaires was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where a formal demarche was issued.

Preliminary findings indicate that the cross-border assault was masterminded from Afghan soil, and the spokesperson reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to dismantle terrorist networks and their enablers.

On global diplomacy, the spokesperson mentioned that Pakistan is closely observing communications between the United States and China, adding that the official schedule for the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to China will be announced once dates are finalized.

Finally, the Foreign Office dismissed a recent CBS News report regarding an Iranian aircraft parked in Pakistan, calling it misleading and contrary to the facts.

The spokesperson clarified that the aircraft arrived during a designated ceasefire period solely for administrative and diplomatic purposes, including the transport of negotiation teams and diplomatic personnel.
