Pakistan Extends Airspace Ban on Indian Flights

ISLAMABAD: A one-year mark was observed since the alleged Pahalgam incident, which has been described in political narratives as a “false flag” operation, with continued debate over security failures.

Separately, Pakistan extended its airspace ban on Indian flights, officials said. The move has been linked to ongoing tensions between the two countries.

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) issued a new Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), confirming that Pakistani airspace will remain closed to all India-registered aircraft.

The restriction has been in place for one year since the incident in the Pahalgam area of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, according to official references cited in the notice.

Under the latest directive, the ban applies to all aircraft registered, operated, or leased by Indian airlines or operators. Military flights are also included.

The Civil Aviation Authority documents confirmed that the restriction will remain fully enforced across both Karachi and Lahore Flight Information Regions.

Officials said the airspace closure will continue until further notice.
