No Evidence Provided by India in Pahalgam Incident After One Year: Tarar

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Tuesday that one year had passed since the alleged Pahalgam “false flag” incident, but no evidence had been presented by India to support its claims.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Tarar said Kashmir remained an internationally recognised dispute, while India continued to describe it as an internal matter. He said terrorism was being portrayed externally by India despite being linked to internal issues, according to Pakistan’s position.

Tarar said an FIR was registered within 10 minutes of the incident. It was said that the rapid filing raised questions and suggested that the text may have been prepared in advance.

The minister said international media, Indian civil society, and think tanks had also raised serious questions about the incident. He said India had failed to provide satisfactory responses.

He said Pakistan’s offer for an independent and impartial investigation had been rejected by India. The rejection was described as an indication of weakness in India’s position.

Tarar also repeated allegations that India had used terrorism as a state policy and had been involved in activities in other countries. The arrest of Kulbhushan Jadhav was cited as an example.

He said Pakistan was taking strong action against terrorism and remained committed to eliminating it. National unity on the issue was reaffirmed.

He said Pakistan would not compromise on sovereignty and security, and any aggression would be met with a strong response.

The minister said Pakistan was contributing to global peace efforts, while India was becoming increasingly isolated due to its policies. He said political and military leadership in Pakistan remained fully aligned on national defence.
