One Year On: ‘Staged’ Pahalgam Attack That Benefited BJP Remains Uninvestigated

SRINAGAR: One year on, the alleged staged Pahalgam attack remains uninvestigated and continues to draw scrutiny over security lapses and the official narrative.

Sections of Indian media, including The Tribune, have highlighted concerns about accountability. It was reported that, even after a year, no clear action had been taken against officials responsible for security in the area.

According to media reports, the failure to prevent such a major attack has led to criticism of intelligence coordination and security protocols. Concerns have also been raised over how attackers were able to enter and exit the area despite a heavy military presence.

Some analysts and commentators have alleged that the incident may have involved a “false flag” operation aimed at achieving political objectives. These claims have not been independently verified.

It has also been suggested by some experts that past incidents, including Uri attack 2016 and Pulwama attack 2019, have contributed to ongoing mistrust and competing narratives in the region.

India has not accepted allegations of a staged operation and has consistently blamed militant groups for such attacks.

Pakistan had offered a joint and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident. The proposal was not taken forward by India as according to Indian own political and security experts
