ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a comprehensive, 30-minute telephone call from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, marking the first high-level contact between the two leaders since the signing of the historic Islamabad Peace Deal.
During the conversation, the Prime Minister extended his warmest congratulations to President Pezeshkian, the Iranian leadership, and the people of Iran on the successful execution of the landmark agreement.
He emphasized that this historic milestone would not only restore vital stability to the region but would also play a pivotal role in rebuilding the Iranian nation and deepening Pakistan-Iran bilateral relations across all areas of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister also conveyed his respectful regards to the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
Lauding Iran’s strategic decision to sign the peace deal, the Prime Minister wished the Iranian leadership success in the upcoming phase of technical negotiations.
He assured President Pezeshkian of Pakistan’s unwavering, continued support as a brotherly neighbor across all spheres.
Expressing deep gratitude on behalf of the Iranian nation and himself, President Pezeshkian thanked the Prime Minister and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, for their exceptional and critical roles in steering the complex mediation process with immense skill, sincerity, and dedication.
The Iranian President noted that Iran would permanently remember Pakistan’s constructive efforts and steadfast support during these challenging times.
