Lango Questions Achakzai, Mengal Over Stance on Pakistan’s Integrity

Business Community is Backbone of Economy: Zia Langove

QUETTA: Balochistan Provincial Home Minister Mir Zia Lango has launched a scathing attack on senior political leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, accusing them of adopting contradictory positions on national unity and failing to unequivocally condemn violence against all Pakistani citizens.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Minister Lango took specific aim at Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai. He pointed out that while Achakzai’s vehicle displays the Pakistani flag, his public statements often reveal positions on domestic matters that are at odds with national interests. “Pakistan’s flag is on Mahmood Khan Achakzai’s car, he talks against the flag, this is a double policy,” Lango said, according to the minister’s official statement. He stressed that the country and homeland are one, and every political leader must prioritize the interests of Pakistan.

The Home Minister further questioned Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal, asking whether he had ever condemned the killing of any Punjabi citizen. Lango asserted that the killing of any innocent citizen is condemnable, regardless of their nationality, language, or region.

Emphasizing the need for national cohesion, Lango stated that Pakistan’s integrity, constitution, and national interests should be given priority above all else. He acknowledged that political differences have their place but insisted that a clear and consistent stance on the issue of the homeland is essential.

The provincial minister also called for political leaders to raise their voices against every incident of terrorism and violence to ensure peace across the entire country, including Balochistan. He urged that instead of Afghanistan, Pakistan should be the first priority of every Pakistani, as the country’s development, peace, and stability are the shared responsibility of all citizens.
