BANNU: Residents of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, frustrated by the militant group referred to as “Fitna al-Khawarij,” have announced public disassociation from relatives involved in militancy and declared full support for the Pakistan Army.
In a notable case, a resident of Bannu, Wazir Iqbal, publicly disowned his son, identified as Khariji Shakirullah, during a press conference at the Bannu Press Club.
The father said he had no connection with his son’s actions or any anti-state activities. He said Shakirullah left home around six months ago and later joined militant activities against the state.
He added that the family made repeated efforts to bring him back, sending relatives to persuade him, but he refused to return.
The father further said he stands with state institutions, the Pakistan Army, and the government of Pakistan, and expressed full readiness for cooperation.
Officials and local sentiment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa indicate growing public rejection of militant groups and their narratives, with increasing public distancing from such elements.
