Islamabad: Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has emphasized that unity against terrorism, driven by sincere intent, is absolutely essential.
He stated that terrorists hiding in Afghanistan have historically caused immense loss to human lives and property.
Furthermore, he noted that Indian-funded terrorists in Balochistan have taken refuge in mountains and caves, targeting soft infrastructure like the Jafar Express and Nushki, while repeatedly victimizing innocent civilians.
Describing them as cowards driven by foreign funding, the Defense Minister reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering resolve to completely eradicate terrorism.
Recalling past achievements, he mentioned that Pakistan broke India’s pride by inflicting a historic defeat exactly one year ago.
He further explained that Balochistan’s geographical layout differs significantly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As Pakistan’s largest province by area but smallest by population, its scattered settlements and vast terrains offer hiding places for terrorists—similar to how parts of Iran once provided sanctuary for such elements.
He expressed hope in Almighty Allah that terrorism will be completely eliminated.
Concluding his remarks, the Defense Minister highlighted that external funding from elements hostile to Pakistan remains a major driver of terrorism, declaring that those working against the state have no right to live in Pakistan.
