JI Leader Hidayat ur Rehman Booked for Misconduct With Security Personnel in Gwadar 

QUETTA: Police have registered a case against Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Balochistan chief and provincial lawmaker Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman in Gwadar over alleged interference at a security checkpoint and misconduct with security personnel.

Police registered the case at Gwadar City Police Station, according to the first information report (FIR).

The FIR cites sections 353, 186, 503, 504, 505 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, the incident occurred near the 15-C checkpoint on Pishkan Road in Gwadar. A video of the incident later circulated on social media.

The FIR alleges that Hidayat ur Rehman used inappropriate and abusive language against security personnel during the incident.

It also accuses him of attempting to incite public resentment and hostility towards security institutions.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Fida Hakim Rind, filed the complaint that led to the registration of the case.

Police have not yet announced any arrest in connection with the case.

The allegations contained in the FIR have not been independently verified.
