TEHRAN: The Spokesperson of Iran’s presidential office has firmly rejected reports suggesting divisions within the country’s leadership, focusing on that unity remains strong at the highest levels of governance.
Mehdi Tabatabaei, speaking on behalf of the presidential office, described the claims of internal differences as baseless and part of a broader campaign of political propaganda. He asserted that Iran’s leadership continues to demonstrate “exemplary cohesion” in addressing both domestic and international challenges.
The spokesperson indicated that Iran remains open to dialogue but stressed that any potential negotiation must be grounded in principles of justice, dignity, and wisdom. He underlined that meaningful engagement cannot proceed unless these fundamental conditions are respected by all parties involved.
In this regard, Tabatabaei criticized certain foreign actors for what he described as the deliberate spread of misinformation. He accused these elements of fabricating narratives aimed at undermining Iran’s political stability and international standing.
He further stated that those propagating false claims should instead focus on addressing their own record, particularly in relation to break promises, bullying and deception. The comments appeared to allude to longstanding tensions between Iran and Western powers, especially concerning diplomatic commitments and regional policies.
The spokesperson made it clear that the country is not opposed to negotiations in principle. However, he focused on that talks cannot be conducted under pressure or coercion.
The statement comes amid increased speculation in international media regarding Iran’s internal political dynamics and its future approach to diplomacy.
