ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Reza Amiri Moghadam, to discuss arrangements for the second phase of the Islamabad talks and matters related to regional stability.
In this regard, both sides focused on the importance of pursuing a sustainable resolution to ongoing tensions through diplomatic engagement and dialogue channels. The discussion mentioned the need for continued communication to reduce misunderstandings and promote peace in the region.
During the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi briefed the Iranian ambassador on his recent visit to Iran, sharing insights and outcomes from his engagements there.
The Iranian envoy appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and positive role in efforts aimed at de-escalation, acknowledging Islamabad’s commitment to promoting dialogue over confrontation.
In this sense, Naqvi stated that preparations for the second phase of the Islamabad negotiations have been finalized. He assured that comprehensive and foolproof security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety and smooth participation of foreign delegations expected to attend the talks.
He added that all relevant institutions are fully coordinated to facilitate the process in a secure and professional manner.
Meanwhile, the interior minister also underlined the longstanding and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran, describing them as rooted in decades of mutual trust and cooperation. He noted that both countries value their bilateral ties and remain committed to strengthening them further in the spirit of regional harmony.
