QUETTA: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi telephoned Balochistan Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau to inquire about his well-being following an attack in Mastung and strongly condemned the incident.
During the telephone conversation, Naqvi expressed relief that Langau remained safe in the attack and praised the bravery and professionalism of the Balochistan Police for successfully thwarting the attack.
“By the grace of Allah Almighty, Mir Ziaullah Langau remained safe in the attack,” the interior minister said, while expressing solidarity with the provincial minister and condemning the attempt in the strongest terms.
Naqvi said the sacrifices rendered by the Balochistan Police in the fight against terrorism were highly commendable. He also paid tribute to the security personnel for their courage and determination in confronting terrorist elements.
The federal interior minister stressed that the state remained committed to combating terrorism and ensuring the protection of citizens and public representatives. He appreciated the police response that helped prevent the attack from achieving its intended objective.
Mir Ziaullah Langau thanked Mohsin Naqvi for contacting him, inquiring about his safety and extending his support and encouragement following the incident.
The Balochistan home minister said the fight against terrorists would be taken to its logical conclusion. He reiterated that hostile elements seeking to undermine peace and stability in the province would not be allowed to succeed.
“The nefarious designs of elements working against peace will not be allowed to succeed,” Langau said.
The incident comes amid continued security challenges in Balochistan, where law-enforcement agencies have been carrying out operations against militant groups and other elements involved in violence.
Both federal and provincial authorities have repeatedly emphasized the need for coordinated efforts to counter terrorism and maintain peace in the province.
Officials said the government remained determined to protect public representatives, security personnel and citizens from terrorist threats. The authorities also reiterated that those involved in attacks on state institutions and public figures would be dealt with according to law.
The federal interior minister’s contact with the Balochistan home minister reflects continued coordination between the federal and provincial governments following the attack.
