Imran Khan Receives Follow-Up Eye Treatment At PIMS

ISLAMABAD: Medical treatment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan was completed at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad, hospital officials said.

He was declared medically stable after examination by eye specialists and discharged following a successful day-care procedure.

According to the administration of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, the PTI founder was brought to the hospital on April 28 for follow-up eye treatment.

A fourth dose of an anti-VEGF intravitreal injection was administered, officials said.

Full consent was obtained before the procedure, and a detailed examination was carried out by ophthalmology specialists, it was stated.

An improvement was also noted in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) results, according to the hospital statement.

The procedure was conducted under standard medical supervision in an operation theatre as a day-care intervention. The patient remained stable before, during, and after the procedure, it was added.

Necessary post-treatment care, follow-up instructions, and documentation were provided before discharge, the hospital said.

Separately, PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan said he was informed that the party founder was taken to PIMS for an eye injection and medical examination during the night.

He said key demands regarding treatment had not yet been met.

He added that both Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi should be shifted to hospital for full medical treatment under supervision of their personal doctors, with family members also allowed to accompany them.
