QUETTA: The Aide to the Home Minister for Media Affairs Department, Babar Yousafzai, paid tribute to journalists across the country, particularly those in Balochistan, for their dedication to independent and transparent journalism.

In this regard, Babar Yousafzai acknowledged the vital role played by journalists in promoting truth and accountability in society. He said that the journalist community in Balochistan has rendered selfless services in the pursuit of free and fair reporting, often working under challenging circumstances.

He focused on that their commitment to professional integrity has contributed significantly to strengthening democratic values and public awareness.

The adviser expressed deep respect for journalists who have lost their lives in the line of duty. “I salute those brave journalists who laid down their lives for the protection of press freedom and truth,” he stated.

He added that their sacrifices would always be remembered as a symbol of courage and resilience.

Babar Yousafzai further stated that the government has consistently supported the promotion of positive and responsible journalism. He reasserted that constructive media practices are essential for mentioning societal issues and encouraging reforms.

Meanwhile, as per him, a free and fact-based press serves as a cornerstone for identifying and addressing shortcomings within society.

He also underlined the importance of safeguarding journalistic freedom, stating that only independent journalism can ensure transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.

He noted that responsible reporting helps build public trust and fosters a more informed and engaged society.
