IG Muzaffarabad Rejects BBC Report, Warns of Hybrid Warfare

Muzaffarabad: During a press conference, Inspector General (IG) Muzaffarabad, Liaqat Ali Malik, stated that we are currently living in an era of hybrid warfare, where facts are distorted to manipulate narratives.

He emphasized the critical importance of verifying any news before believing or spreading it.

Addressing recent media coverage, the IG dismissed a BBC report regarding road closures as completely false, attributing it to propaganda by miscreants targeting the situation in Azad Kashmir.

He explained that miscreants associated with banned organizations have been blocking roads, looting food supply vehicles, and resorting to violence.

Furthermore, he highlighted that artificial intelligence is now being used to fabricate new narratives, making fake and distorted news one of the biggest challenges of the modern era.

Critiquing the international broadcaster, he stated that the BBC report distorted the facts and urged such institutions to demonstrate greater responsibility.

The IG assured the public that all major routes in Azad Kashmir remain fully open, with the exception of a few blocked roads in Rawalakot that are currently causing temporary inconvenience to citizens.
