TURBAT: Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has categorically dismissed rumors of a government change in Balochistan, asserting that Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti is effectively leading the administration and implementing development projects at an unprecedented pace.
Speaking to media representatives at his residence in Turbat, Buledi emphasized that the current government has achieved over 100 percent implementation of the Provincial Development Program (PSDP) – a first in the province’s history. He stated that development activities are progressing vigorously across Balochistan.
Addressing the security situation, the provincial minister termed terrorism a “plague” and alleged that elements supported by foreign actors from across the border are attempting to destabilize the region. He affirmed that the government, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, is committed to eradicating terrorism and maintaining law and order as a constitutional responsibility.
Buledi strongly condemned the involvement of Baloch women in suicide attacks, describing it as contrary to Baloch values, traditions, and the Baloch code of conduct. He called upon society to discourage such practices.
Regarding political stability, Buledi clarified that recent discussions with President Asif Ali Zardari focused solely on Balochistan’s overall situation, not any government change. He labeled rumors about a “two-and-a-half-year formula” as baseless speculation, stating that neither party leadership nor any official case has suggested such a development.
Taking a dig at opposition parties, Buledi remarked that the National Party – while the fifth largest party in the Balochistan Assembly – is “dreaming of the Chief Ministership.” He noted that rumors of government change typically surface whenever a government is formed in Balochistan, with some elements attempting to exploit the situation.
