QUETTA: Pakistani security forces killed two suspected militants in an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan after intercepting their movement near Naseerabad district, security sources said on Wednesday.
The operation was launched after intelligence indicated that two armed suspects were traveling on a motorcycle. The movement was later confirmed through intercepted communications, the sources said.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the forces launched the operation and surveillance.
During surveillance, security personnel observed the suspects park their motorcycle near a compound. One suspect moved toward a nearby culvert while the other entered the compound.
At around 12:15 am., troops engaged the suspect near the culvert, killing him on the spot. Security forces then surrounded the compound and killed the second suspect during the operation, the sources said.
Authorities recovered two bodies from the scene along with a submachine gun (SMG), two 75-kilogram explosive containers, two mobile phones, six magazines, a satellite tracking and observation system (STOS) device, a Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) flag, two wallets, a chest rig, and the motorcycle used by the suspects.
