Forces Kill Eight Militants in Hangu Area of KP

Hangu: In the Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, an intense exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists left eight extremists dead, while six security personnel embraced martyrdom.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces operations in KP areas continue to deliver heavy blows to militant networks as troops effectively counter insurgent threats.

During the fierce engagement, eight members of Fitna al-Khawarij were neutralized, though the exchange resulted in the supreme sacrifice of six brave personnel, including two officers: 23-year-old Captain Abozar Farooq from Gujranwala and Lieutenant Sheraz Babar from Chakwal.

Large caches of heavy weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain militants following the operation.

Counter-Terrorism Measures and Security Forces Operations in KP Areas

The tribal districts and border regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have long stood at the forefront of Pakistan’s war against terrorism.

Over recent years, security forces operations in KP areas have intensified significantly to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, counter infiltration, and restore absolute peace.

These intelligence-based and kinetic operations target remnant militant factions that frequently attempt to destabilize the region through asymmetric warfare.

Executing these missions involves immense sacrifices from the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and law enforcement agencies, who confront hostile terrain, harsh weather, and embedded insurgent networks daily.

Beyond tactical engagements, successful pacification requires a comprehensive framework integrating kinetic actions with socio-economic development, robust border management, and community engagement.

The ongoing counter-terrorism strategy underscores the state’s unwavering resolve to eradicate violent extremism.
