QUETTA: The Election Commission of Pakistan ECP has finalized all arrangements for by-elections on 11 local government seats across six districts, scheduled to take place on August 9.
According to the provincial election authority, necessary steps have been completed to ensure the electoral process remains transparent, fair, and peaceful. The by-polls will be held in the districts of Zhob, Loralai, Sibi, Kalat, Khuzdar, and Hub.
A total of 39 candidates are in the fray for these 11 seats, with a tough contest expected among them. The Election Commission released details indicating that 12,357 registered voters—including 6,485 men and 5,872 women—will exercise their right to vote.
To facilitate the process, 17 polling stations will be established, comprising 5 male-only, 5 female-only, and 7 combined polling stations to ensure all voters can cast their ballots with ease.
The Election Commission of Balochistan stated that strict implementation of the code of conduct will be ensured during polling. All logistical arrangements, including the delivery of election materials, deployment of polling staff, and security measures, have been completed. Concerned agencies have been directed to maintain mutual communication to guarantee a peaceful, transparent, and uninterrupted voting process.
