ECP Suspends Today Hearings as Islamabad Shifts to Remote Work

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan on Monday postponed all hearings scheduled for April 20, 2026, following a federal government decision to implement work-from-home arrangements in the capital.

In a statement, the commission said it had de-listed all cases fixed for hearing today. It added that new dates would be announced later and parties would be informed in due course.

The move comes amid broader restrictions in Islamabad, where authorities ordered remote work for government offices in the Red Zone.

Separately, the federal government directed all ministries, divisions, and institutions located in the high-security area to operate from home for the day.

A notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat instructed officials and staff to remain at their duty stations and stay ready to report to offices at short notice if required.
