QUETTA: Social media accounts linked to pro-Afghan Taliban and Fitna al Hindustan narratives have circulated a behind-the-scenes video from a Pakistani television drama, falsely claiming it shows fabricated footage of Pakistan’s ongoing military operations in Balochistan.
The video was widely shared on X and other social media platforms to support claims that the Pakistan Army had staged videos of Operation Shahban and Operation Al-Azm. The clip was also reposted by self-exiled Pakistani journalist Imran Riaz and youtuber Sabir Shakir, amplifying the misleading claim.

The viral clip is not from any military operation. It is a behind-the-scenes recording from the production of Captain Asfandyar Shaheed, a television drama produced by Geo Entertainment.
The original video was posted by Pakistani actor Ali Ammar, who plays the lead role in the drama, on his verified Instagram account.
The specific footage being circulated online appears at approximately 00:36 in Ammar’s original Instagram reel. The clip was taken out of context and falsely presented as authentic battlefield footage.
The investigation found no evidence linking the video to military operations in Balochistan.
