ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday to review the country’s overall security situation, with a special focus on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan provinces, officials said.
The two leaders discussed the law and order situation and reviewed ongoing counterterrorism operations and measures aimed at maintaining peace and stability.
Naqvi briefed the president on the latest security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. He also updated him on ongoing operations against militant groups.
President Zardari praised the Pakistan Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies, and police for their bravery, professionalism, and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

He said the entire nation stood firmly with the country’s security forces in efforts to eliminate terrorism and ensure lasting peace.

The president reaffirmed the state’s commitment to continue taking all necessary measures to eradicate terrorism and strengthen national security.
