QUETTA : A brazen daylight robbery took a dramatic turn on Wednesday when three armed men, who snatched cash from a citizen outside a bank in the busy Masjid Road area, lost control of their vehicle during a high-speed chase and crashed into an electric pole, leaving one suspect injured and arrested.
According to sources, the three unidentified gunmen confronted a citizen as he was withdrawing money from a bank. The suspects fled the scene with approximately Rs 350,000 in cash.
Immediately after the robbery, the victim raised an alarm, prompting local residents and bystanders to give chase. During the pursuit, the suspects’ vehicle was being driven at high speed when it went out of control and slammed into an electric pole on the roadside.
The crash injured one of the robbers, while his two accomplices managed to escape on foot. Citizens at the scene quickly overpowered and detained the injured suspect.
A large police contingent arrived shortly after receiving information. Officials took the vehicle into custody and shifted the injured robber to a hospital for medical treatment.
Police officials confirmed that interrogation of the arrested suspect has begun. Meanwhile, a blockade and search operation is underway in different parts of the city to track down the two absconding accomplices. Authorities have collected evidence from the scene and launched a formal investigation
